Back of a group of volunteers

Early Reach, delivered by Help Helps CIC, provides early intervention and safeguarding support for individuals and families who feel unsure, worried, or overwhelmed, often before situations escalate into crisis.

We are looking for dedicated volunteers to join our online support team, helping us provide calm guidance, practical assistance, and safe signposting at the earliest signs of concern.

Volunteers play a vital role in supporting people who may be dealing with safeguarding worries, domestic abuse concerns, community safety issues, or wider life challenges linked to stress and uncertainty.

What Volunteers Do

Volunteers do not give professional or legal advice. Instead, they support our early intervention work by helping gather information, explain processes clearly, and guide people toward appropriate services.

Early Support & Housing Advice Volunteer (Online)

You will support individuals who are worried about housing safety, homelessness risk, or unstable living situations.

This role involves gathering information, helping clients understand what documents may be needed, identifying relevant council or charity resources, and preparing notes for advisors.

Training covers housing basics, safeguarding awareness, and safe online research.

2

Immigration Information  & Signposting Volunteer (Online)

You will help clients navigate official immigration information by identifying reliable guidance, signposting to qualified advisers, and helping organise documents for appointments.

This role does not involve giving legal advice. Training focuses on boundaries, safeguarding, and safe signposting.

3

Benefits & Financial Wellbeing Volunteer (Online)

You will support people experiencing financial stress by helping them understand benefit processes, evidence requirements, and application steps.

Training focuses on clear communication, up-to-date information sources, and supporting people respectfully during stressful situations.

4

Wellbeing, Confidence & Job Readiness Support Volunteer (Online)

You will help individuals build confidence, organise CVs, explore training opportunities, and take positive steps toward stability.

This role focuses on encouragement, structure, and signposting rather than outcomes-based pressure.

5

Safeguarding & Early Intervention Support Volunteer (Online)

You will support our early intervention work by helping gather information where there are concerns about safety, wellbeing, or vulnerability.

Training includes safeguarding awareness, confidentiality, and how to recognise when concerns need to be escalated to an advisor.

Training, Support and Progression

We take safeguarding, boundaries, and volunteer wellbeing seriously.
We do not expect you to know everything; we provide the training and guidance you need to volunteer confidently and safely.

As a volunteer with Help Helps CIC, you will receive:

  • Full training in housing, benefits, immigration signposting, safeguarding and general advice

  • Ongoing supervision and support from experienced advisors

  • Help developing skills in communication, note-taking, online research and client support

  • A reference or supporting letter for job and university applications (after a period of consistent volunteering)

  • Where possible, access to funded training and courses to help you progress in your career

This role is ideal for students, graduates, people returning to work, or anyone who wants to support their community while developing practical skills in communication, safeguarding awareness, and early intervention support.
